Where Our Adventure Began
About 13 years ago I met a glass blower. As I watched him take solid rods of glass and with the use of only a torch mold it into beautiful pieces of art, I was fascinated. Having explored nearly every other medium, I watched with fascination and knew this was something I must pursue. I immediately purchased the necessary equipment and began working. My home studio, made as a gift from my wife (to get me out her laundry room), was a 10 ft by 10 ft space in our carport with plastic sheeting for walls, an old TV stand as my work desk and a lawn chair to sit on. This was all I needed to fuel my addiction for making glass. There was something about the manipulating of molten glass, with nothing more than a two thousand degree torch, the unforgiving nature of glass has continued to fascinate me. I then opened my studio inside Hills Creek Collections in the Craft Community in Gatlinburg, TN. Our children are now grown and beginning their own lives, so we decided it was time to go after our dream. We have wanted to move closer to the coast for years and it was finally time. So in the spring of 2017 we moved to the Crystal Coast in North Carolina. We are exploring other mediums to add to our lineup. We hope you enjoy our art as much as we enjoy creating it. You can still find our work in the Hills Creek Gallery, 849 Glades Road, Gatlinburg, TN.
